What are Snap Bushings and what Applications are they used for?
Snap Bushings provide a quick, simple and low cost means of protecting cables, hoses, ropes etc, from damage from raw edged holes. They are commonly used in applications where wire and cable can be exposed to sharp metal edges and rubbing. Adding Snap bushings to your metal compartments help eliminate abrasion and protect the wire and harness from abrasion and cutting. KT snap bushings are made of Snap Bushings are manufactured using black UL approved Nylon6/6 and feature a flammability rating of 94V-2.
Snap bushings are as easy as they sound; once you have your hole cut, you simply snap the bushing into place.
What is the Difference between an Open Snap Bushing and a Closed Snap Bushing?
An Open Snap Bushing (as displayed in the below photo) has an open end at both ends to pass cable through a surface such as a wall. This protects the cable from raw or sharp edges.
A Closed Snap Bushing has one surface Sealed and is used to seal a hole neatly (as per photo below) This prevents anything being passed through the hole. The Snap Bushing can be easily pushed into place using pressure of your fingers. This may be a temporary seal and can be removed easily if required.
